Tree surgery in Cardiff
Pruning, crown reduction, thinning and deadwooding by careful, methodical tree surgeons.
Tree Surgery done properly
Well looked-after trees are healthier, safer and far nicer to live with. Our tree surgery work keeps your trees in good condition, lets more light into the garden and takes the weight out of limbs that have grown too far.
Whether you have a single ornamental tree or several mature specimens, we work carefully and methodically, cutting to the right points so the tree recovers well and keeps its natural shape.

What our tree surgery covers

Tree Surgery questions
The things people most often ask about this service.
When should trees not be trimmed in the UK?
As a general rule, avoid heavy pruning in spring when sap is rising and birds may be nesting. Many trees are best pruned in late autumn or winter when dormant, though there are exceptions, we will advise on the right timing for your particular tree. We also check for nesting birds before any work, as they are protected by law.
Will pruning harm my tree?
Not when it is done properly. Cutting back to the correct growth points and removing the right amount helps a tree stay healthy. We never over-prune, as taking too much at once puts a tree under stress.
Do I need permission to work on my tree?
Sometimes. Trees covered by a Tree Preservation Order, or any tree in a conservation area, need consent from the council first. We can tell you if this is likely to apply and point you in the right direction.
